What is MultiGuide Player?
MultiGuide Player is the software that runs on a PC on your vehicle. It is
capable of transmitting commentaries and announcements in up to 16
languages at the same time. It can also be configured to play just one
language, for example, for airport bus applications. In-cab screen allows
driver to select tours from a menu. Once tour is selected, MultiGuide knows
order in which to play commentaries and transmits all relevant sound files at
each commentary point. Commentaries can be triggered by both GPS and
driver/guide. GPS can be switched off if preferred. Driver/guide can also play
announcements, advertisements, and 'fillers' on demand.

What is MultiGuide Management Console?
MultiGuide Management Console is the software that is used when setting up a new tour. It runs on a PC in your office. This enables you to easily create and amend your own tours without having to involve a third party. With MultiGuide Management Console you can create an unlimited number of commentaries and use the same commentary in many tours. There is no limit to the number of tours you may create. Updating the tour content on your vehicles is easy with MultiGuide Management Console's export facility.
You supply sound files used in tours, so no payment is made to Sound Technologies for creating or updating tour content.

What is MultiGuide Logger?
If you prefer that your commentaries are triggered by GPS, then it is necessary for MultiGuide to know the exact geographical location where the commentary should start playing.
MultiGuide Logger is a software application that runs on your laptop so that you may automatically capture GPS data whilst driving the tour route. By pressing the 'Log' button at the point where you want a commentary to play, the system will capture all the information necessary for accurate playing in future. The Logger allows you test each point before you travel to the next location. You can also make adjustments to captured data, for example, to cause a commentary to play earlier or later.

to questions
Is MultiGuide suitable for single-language applications, such as airport buses?
Yes, MultiGuide Player will be configured to play only 1 language at a time. However, this language can be selected at start of tour from however many you have set up. What is more, a single-language system is significantly cheaper than the multi-language version.

How do we create and update tour content?
MultiGuide Management Console gives you complete control over tour content. You create and update tours in their own office. These are automatically installed on vehicle when vehicle PC is switched on. This means it is easy and quick to create and change tours - you don't have to pay anyone else to do this.

How are the commentaries delivered to our customers?
In a single language system, the on-board MultiGuide PC is simply connected to the vehicle's loudspeaker system. For multi-language systems, where customers are listening to personal commentaries in their own language, individual seat modules must be installed. We can recommend suppliers of individual channel selectors. MultiGuide can also transmit to wireless receivers, but this does tend to be a significantly more expensive option.

What about training and setting the system up?
In order to get your new system on the road as quickly as possible, Sound Technologies offer extensive support throughout the implementation phase. One of our consultants will provide training to your staff in use of all component elements of MultiGuide. We will also assist with setting up your multi-language tours, including logging GPS positions for commentary triggering. Consultancy is charged at a daily rate, plus disbursements. A typical new installation will take 2 or 3 days. Once the system has been installed, it is unlikely that we will need to visit again. We do not need to visit when you add additional vehicles, set up new tours or change tours.

to questions
Are there any on-going charges once we have the system installed?
The only on-going charge is an annual software support fee. This entitles you to, among other things, the provision from time to time of software revisions, updates and documentation for the software. New versions of the software (for example, with new functions) are optional and are not included in the support services.
