Passenger Information increases satisfaction
Passenger Focus survey highlights importance of on-vehicle passenger information...
In their report 'Designing the Future' published in April 2009, Passenger Focus reported an 86% overall passenger approval rating for information provision via audio announcements and information displays on trains.
An example of good practice quoted by Passenger Focus was having audio announcements and matching visual information transmitted at the same time. This is exactly what Sound Technologies' EasyGuide CityBus GPS system does.
By offering GPS-triggered voice announcements and visual media, our EasyGuide CityBus system can help transport operators improve passenger satisfaction on buses, trams, trains, boats, ferries, etc.
And, of course, improved passenger satisfaction is an acknowledged way of increasing passenger growth.
EasyGuide CityBus system provides real time on-vehicle information, including route details and distance to next stop so that passengers know when to start getting ready to alight.
In addition EasyGuide CityBus can transmit location-specific advertising too. Another source of increased revenue.
Passenger Focus is an independent public body set up by the UK Government to protect the interests of Britain's rail passengers and from Spring 2010 its role will widen to include bus passenger representation in England.

EasyGuide
Rino Ødegård, Product Manager, City
Sightseeing Oslo says...
“Whether our vehicles are sightseeing in the city or on a foray around the fjord, EasyGuide
GPS commentary system does the job. Beautifully.”

“As product manager of an ever expanding sightseeing fleet, I need a commentary system that plays the right commentaries automatically at the same place day in, day out. After successfully running EasyGuide
GPS on all of our existing vehicles throughout 2008, there was no doubt which system we would be installing on OsloVision’s newly acquired City Sightseeing fleet.
We run both single and multi-language versions of EasyGuide
GPS. The system is available with or without passenger screens. And creating or amending tours ourselves is simple!”

The new go
anywhere single language
solution...
New EasyGuide Solo Mobile from Sound Technologies plays commentaries and announcements through your vehicle’s radio or existing PA system. This means you can use your EasyGuide Solo Mobile system in any vehicle and it can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as required.

With the complete unit measuring only 231mm x 192mm x 42mm (9.09in x 7.55in x 1.65in), EasyGuide Solo Mobile is small and easy to carry.
This compact tablet PC with 8.5 inch SVGA touch screen contains everything you need to create, manage and play your own tours. You can create multiple tours and all you need to do at the start of a tour is select the required tour from the menu. Playing commentaries automatically by GPS is very accurate.
If you cater for different language groups, EasyGuide Solo Mobile lets you link multiple language files to each point of interest. Then the driver may select the preferred language at the start of each tour.

MultiGuide
Customer Base Grows

comparatively new product,
MultiGuide is already widely used
and our customer base continues to
grow...
MultiGuide is now used by
sightseeing tour operators in
ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, NORWAY, SWEDEN,
MALTA
and FINLAND. Perhaps the reason for
this success is best summed up by
one prospective customer who,
after speaking to an existing
customer, wrote "never experienced a more serious supplier than you and regarding your product it was only positive experiences".
That prospective customer is now
an actual customer.

Scottish Tours/Prestige
Tours selects MultiGuide GPS with tracking
Scottish tour operator,
Scottish Tours, has selected
MultiGuide multi-language
commentary system after reviewing
a number of different systems.
Scotland is a land where
history, legends and magical tales
are blended together against a
backdrop of spectacular scenery,
fairytale castles and wild open
spaces.
From the spring of 2006, Scottish
Tours will be offering tours in
English, French, German, Italian,
Spanish and Japanese using

tranquil sealochs, battlefields
echoing to the cries of long ago
to the peace of remote highland
glens, tour managers back at base
will use the internet to follow
their progress!
See Norway With Bodø Sightseeing - And MultiGuide
GPS
Way up in the Arctic Circle, in the land of the Midnight Sun and the Northern Lights lies the bustling little port town of Bodø. Bodø is a stopping off place for the coastal steamers that ply these waters along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. Bodø Sightseeing now offers multi-language commentaries on their tours featuring MultiGuide from Sound Technologies.
MultiGuide now works with GPS technology
Having commentaries played automatically obviously makes life easier for the driver because he or she doesn't have to remember when to play them. It is also a good deal safer as the driver can concentrate on the road.......
Unlike many other commentary systems, MultiGuide is switchable between manual and GPS modes.
This gives you the ability to play
a commentary when you want to -
not only when the vehicle reaches
the exact location - ideal for
playing fillers and announcements.
Again, if GPS signal is poor, MultiGuide will alert the driver who can then trigger the commentaries manually if required.
Having said that, GPS is awesome
and generally very accurate and
dependable!
Who's In Town? Unlimited Languages!
MultiGuide allows the driver to reconfigure the languages playing at any time. Select required langauges from however many you have set up........
Using the driver's keypad languages can be assigned to each channel. A test sound plays on the channel as each channel is set so that the driver or engineer knows which channel they are setting.
The new configuration is available immediately with no need to reload the system or re-start the computer.
This new facility makes it a simple matter to change the language profiles if the customer population varies in the course of the year. New languages can be brought in and old ones taken out without the need to remove the computer from the bus, adding to the flexibility of the system and reducing maintenance costs.
